Columbia River Gorge
This one is off to a new home. It will be a custom tile mural kitchen backsplash for a home in Seattle. It features a scene, partly accurate and partly imagined, of the Columbia River Gorge, on the Washington/Oregon border.
Orcas Island
This custom tile mural will go into the same house that the tide pool mural I posted last week is going into. These people are my favorite clients of all time!
Tide Pools
Here’s the biggest custom tile mural I’ve done in a while. It features tide pools with Mt. Baker in the background, and a kraken eating the ferry boat.
CVHS 2025 Tile
Every year since 2006, I’ve made a tile for the graduating class of a high school in eastern Washington.
Family Tree
One of the smallest custom tile murals I’ve done in a while. This is a family tree on tile.
Antique tiles
This series of custom tiles was based on a series of antique Mexican tiles. They’re 6” x 12”.
Madrone Shower
Here’s a job I’ve been waiting a long time to show you. It’s still not quite finished, but the tile is in. The plumbing, the tub and the glass doors are not, but I wanted to show it off.
Cave painting Kitchen Backsplash Tile Mural
This kitchen tile backsplash mural just got shipped off to Montana. It features cave painting imagery from neolithic France and Spain, as well as petroglyphs from the American Southwest. This custom tile mural will go on several areas of the kitchen backsplash.
California landscape
This little mural got installed really quickly after it arrived. Sometimes these things take years, or months, but this one went up right away. It features the view from the home in California, with plants in the foreground from the garden there.
Waptus Lake Tile
This picture was recently sent to me by someone who had bought this mounted tile piece at an estate sale. The seller had the original receipt from 1995. She paid $295 for it then. It sold at the estate sale for $250.
